Synopsis
Gael García Bernal stars in this biographical feature about Saúl Armendáriz, a gay amateur wrestler from Juárez, Mexico, who achieved international stardom after creating the exótico character Cassandro, Lucha Libre wrestling's answer to Liberace.
Exóticos were unmasked, stereotypically feminine characters the public loved to hate, and they never won a fight. But with Saúl's debut as Cassandro, he turns macho culture upside down and his life as well. With Cassandro's rising stardom, how can Saúl find balance in his relationship with his mother - and Gerardo, his secret lover?
