Synopsis
Nan Goldin is one of USAs biggest living art photographers, and has since the 1980’s received international recognition for her documentation of the American AIDS-crisis, amongst other things. In recent years, Goldin has worked to hold the pharmaceutical company Purdue Pharma accountable for their part in the American opioid crisis.
Goldin herself had developed an addiction to the opioid drug OxyContin after she was prescribed it for pains in her wrist.
Director Laura Poitras’ Golden Lion winner from The Venice Film Festival in 2022 depicts Goldin's tireless battle against Purdue Pharma.
